Connection type setting
Use the Connection type property to view and select the connection type. The following list of connection types gives you an overview of all communication interfaces that Trimble 4D Control Server supports anywhere in the system. The selection displayed depends on your current application.
- Serial: Connecting a data source using a serial cable attached directly to the Trimble 4D Control Server computer.
- USB: Connecting a data source using a cable attached directly to the USB port of the Trimble 4D Control Server computer. To configure a USB connection, select the USB connection type. No further settings are necessary.
- Radio: For a connection to the data source using a radio, which is directly attached to a COM port of a Trimble 4D Control Server computer.
- TCP/IP Client: For connecting the Trimble 4D Control Server program with the data source within a WAN/LAN using TCP/IP. In this case, the data source will act as TCP/IP server to which the TCP/IP client will connect.
- TCP/IP Server: For connecting the Trimble 4D Control Server program with the data source within a WAN/LAN using TCP/IP. In this case, the data source will act as TCP/IP client and has to initiate the connection to the TCP/IP server.
- Modem: For a connection to the data source (modem) via telephone line using any type of modem supported by the Windows TAPI interface. Can only be used for incoming GNSS data streams.
- NTRIP Client: Connecting an instrument or a Router to an NtripCaster using a Source-table list for selecting the data source. Only used for incoming data streams.
- NTRIP Server: Connecting an instrument or a Router to an NtripCaster identifying the data stream as mountpoint. Only used for outgoing data streams.
- RTPD Client: RTPD Client connections are specific TCP/IP connection types, which are used for connecting to an RTPD (REF TEK error correction protocol) Service. The RTPD Client type connects to o a single data stream.
- RTPD Client Acc: An RTPD Client connection which connects to all incoming Multiplexed Recording Format (MRF) data streams provided.
- RTPD Client Pos: An RTPD Client connection which connects to a single MRF stream of position data.
- Settop M1: A TCP/IP connection to a Settop M1 device that is used for remote control of total stations.
- Settop M1 file based: A TCP/IP connection to a Settop M1 device that downloads stored round measurements in a file.
- Settop M1 IST Connect: A passive connection using the IST Connect cloud service of the Settop M1 device.
- Settop M1 IST Connect (proxy): A bidirectional, active connection using the IST Connect cloud service of the Settop M1 device.
