Radio connection settings

To configure a radio connection, first select the Radio connection type. The properties of the Connection Settings category adjust themselves for the selected connection type.

Port: Specifies the port to which the radio is connected. The drop-down list displays all ports which are available at the computer at which the parent Controller is running.

Channel: Specifies the radio channel to be used for the communication between the radio device connected at the computer and a radio device at a remote instrument. Channel numbers are between 31 and 60. Default: 31.

Network ID: Specifies a network ID, which is used for identifying the radio devices communicating over the same channel. Enter a value between 1 and 255.

Note – The Use multiple base radios property of the Instrument Manager defines, how the settings of this connection type are applied. If all Data Collector modules connect to total stations that use the same base radio, use the default No setting. In this case, you set up a radio connection once for all Data Collector modules. Changes to the settings will be applied to all Data Collector module configurations. For using more than one base radio with differing settings, the Use multiple base radios property of the Instrument Manager must be set to Yes. In this case, the software lets you specify the radio settings for each Data Collector module individually.
