This dialog appears if you do one of the following:
Use the dialog for the following purposes:
Note - Read this general information on software updates carefully.
The main view of the dialog shows the current main version (for example version 1.4) and the number of the currently available patch that will be used to update the system.
Additionally, it supplies detailed information on the major changes and enhancements of that update. Patch updates always refer to the first release of the software version. That means, it does not matter, how often you update a version.
Note - New versions are not available for download from the Trimble web server.
For storing the information on the current update to a rich text file, click the Save as button. This opens a standard Windows file dialog that lets you select the path of name of the rich text file.
Warning - Make sure the Controller and DBServer services of all computers participating in the Trimble 4D Control Server system are running before starting the software update download. This is a necessary because the update is automatically distributed to the other Controllers and the DBServer after the download. Otherwise, it might happen that incompatible versions are running simultaneously with unpredictable results.
If you have opened the dialog from the icon and all Controller and DBServer services of all computers participating in the Trimble 4D Control Server system are running, you can start the download of updates from the Trimble web server. To do so, click the Download Update button. If one of the services is not running, a warning message appears that lets you decide whether to cancel the download (recommended) or to proceed anyways. In this case you must copy the update ZIP file to the missing computers of the distributed system before restarting the services with Trimble Service Administrator.
The progress bar indicates the progress of the file download. You may cancel the download at any time.
