Tilt Sensor Configuration dialog
This dialog appears if you do the following:
- Add the In-Place Inclinometer module. The In-Place Inclinometer Properties dialog appears with the General Settings tab.
- Set the focus onto the Tilt sensors value field and click the browse button.
The Select Tilt Sensors dialog displays a list of all bi-axial tilt sensors that are configured in all the Data Logger modules added to your current Trimble 4D Control Server system. Each sensor is identified by its Sensor Name and the Data Logger module which is used to read in its data, the manufacturer and serial number of the sensor.
Switching the order of sensors
For re-arranging the tilt sensors in the list, set the cursor onto a list item and drag it to the target position.
Selecting sensors
The dialog offers several selection modes:
- For adding an individual tilt sensors to the set of selected sensors, make sure its check box is selected.
- For selecting all sensors, click All.
- For removing the selection from all list items, click None.
- For not adding a tilt sensor to the set, remove the selection from its check box.
Editing initial tilt angles
For each tilt sensor, the list displays its segment length in meters, and initial tilts in A and B direction in decimal degrees.
For the computation of deflections (lateral offsets), the algorithm considers the segment length and initial tilt values of all sensors. By default, the initial tilts are set to zero.
- For entering segment lengths and known initial tilt angles, double-click the Segment Length, Initial Tilt-A and/or Initial Tilt-B fields and enter the known values.
- The units of the segment lengths values depend on the system settings (see the System Properties description of this documentation). If you enter the value without adding a unit, the system unit is applied automatically. However, it is also possible to enter length values using other units, adding the respective unit after the value. For example, for entering meter values in an International foot environment enter "x.x m".
Note - For computation, the module of course respects all decimals entered, but the display of lengths depends on the View > Options > Decimal precision value.
- The initial tilt angles are displayed in decimal degrees (deg). However, it is also possible to enter angles values using other units such as radian (add "rad" after the value), gradian (enter "grad"), or sexagesimal degrees (enter °, ', " after the values). The software converts the values automatically into decimal degrees. The module displays a maximum of three decimals for tilt angles.
- For using current tilts as initial tilt values for all sensors, click the Renew Intitial Tilts button.
Note - The Renew Intitial Tilts button is only active for users with administrator rights.
