Remarks on the assignment of access rights

The following is an overview on how access rights are assigned to operators:

• Administrators can always remove operators from a team and / or assign them to another team, thus manually transferring user rights to / from these operators.
• There is one exception: The All operator team cannot be modified and not be deleted.
• User rights of operators can get automatically transferred by the definition of primary and secondary operator teams.
• All members of the primary operator team have all operator access rights to modules specified for this operator team.
• Operators who are not member of a primary or secondary team specified for a specific module have always limited access.
• Members of the secondary operator team have limited access rights to the modules, for which their team is specified as secondary team, as long as at least one member of the primary team is logged on to any UI participating in the system.
• If no member of the primary team is logged on, any member of the secondary team gets access right to the module.
• Control rights are automatically transferred, if the following happens: A member of the secondary team is logged on "in duty", that means currently has access rights to the module. Now, a member of the primary team logs in. In this case, the control rights are automatically transferred back to the member of the primary team.
• The module name color in the Tree view indicates whether the currently logged in user has access rights to it:
  • If logged on as operator of the primary operator team for a specific module, its name appears in black.
  • If logged on as operator of the secondary operator team for a specific module and being "in duty", its name appears in black, too.
  • If logged on as operator of the secondary operator team for a specific module not being "in duty", its name appears grayed out.
  • If logged on as operator of neither the primary or secondary operator team for a specific module, its name appears grayed out, too.
• Operators can be automatically logged out if the Automatic UI logout setting of the System Properties is set to Yes and the specified logout time has been reached. lf the last member of the primary team has been automatically logged out, the member(s) of the secondary team will gain control over the modules for which their team has been specified as secondary.
