Database maintenance

Trimble recommends the Trimble 4D Control Server administrators to do regularly maintenance work for the Trimble 4D Control Server databases.

Maintenance work can include:

• Performing (scheduled) database backups;
• Observing the Windows event logger (Application log);
• Controlling the automatic reduction of database contents;
• Restoring databases, if necessary.

Tip - It is possible to backup the database while Trimble 4D Control Server is running.

Note - Any other action on databases than the scheduled backup should only be performed by experienced users.
If a database has to be repaired, the Trimble 4D Control Server database server must be stopped. During repair, the database must be set to the "Emergency" state and the "Single_User" state has to be applied.
