A Data Receiver module controls the data received by third-party software that in turn controls a total station. It receives data in the GKA format, either in native or in enhanced format (GNV), and converts the data. Then it forwards the raw measurement to processing engine modules. Similar to the Data Collector, it is necessary to specify the site setup based on backsight points, to perform reference measurements, followed by repeated round measurements. The module stores the raw measurements in the central database.
The stored data can then be used by:
The Data Receiver module is available from the Tree view root Trimble 4D Control Server. Trimble 4D Control Server accepts multiple Data Receiver modules in the system.
When the module is being added, the Data Receiver Properties dialog appears. It lets you define and select module configurations. Each configuration holds information on a total station site; that is the total station and the connection type to the third party software, selection of target points, measurement settings and alarming thresholds. You may remove a configuration from here, if you do not need it anymore. You may change the settings of the selected Data Receiver configuration at any time.
You can add the following modules to a Data Receiver module:
Once configured, the Data Receiver module provides collective information about the entire site. Through the views available to this module, one can quickly determine the health and status of that particular total station setup.
In the Tree view, each Data Receiver module is represented by its connection name and a status-identifying icon.
Inactive, no measurement scheduled for the time being. No indication for an alarm status. |

Active, measuring. No indication for an alarm status. |

Alarm status:

With alarming activated, the Data Receiver module triggers alarms, if it is in one of the (alarm) or (disconnected) states.
The following alarm states can be reported:
The Data Receiver module writes measurement history and raw measurements for all points into the central database. The database contains the following tables referring to the Data Receiver system:
