Priority Settings dialog: Conflict detection and resolution

This dialog appears if you do the following:

• Add an Instrument Manager module to the system or change its properties, then set the focus onto the Priority settings value field and click the browse button.

Only one Data Collector module can connect to a specific total station at the same time. If multiple Data Collector modules connect to the same total station, it is necessary to set priorities to resolve such a conflict.

The following may happen:

• A Data Collector module with a lower priority will be hold on, if a Data Collector with a higher priority starts the round measurement. This occurs 20 seconds before the scheduled round measurement.
• A Data Collector module with a higher priority will finish its measurement of a set of rounds before a Data Collector with a lower priority can start the round measurement.

If you insert a new Data Collector, it gets the lowest priority. Use the Priority Settings dialog to change the priorities of connected Data Collector modules.

Total Stations list field

Displays the serial numbers of available total stations

Data Collectors list field

Displays the configuration names of the Data Collector module with specified connection to the total station displayed in the Total Stations list field and in order of their current priority.

Arrow down button

Moves the selected Data Collector module downwards in the list. This module will get a lower priority.

Arrow up button

Moves the selected Data Collector module upwards in the list. This module will get a higher priority.
