When you add the Data Logger IPI module, the Data Logger IPI Properties dialog appears with this tab.
If you select the module in the Tree view after you have added the module, the categories and settings of this tab appear in the Properties view.
The General Settings tab presents you with the configuration properties of the Data Logger IPI module being either inserted or edited. All fields herein must be completed when inserting a new instance of this module.
The settings of this category specify the in-place inclinometer hardware.
Sensor name: This property identifies the in-place inclinometer sensor. It must be unique in the Trimble 4D Control Server system. By default, the module configuration name is used.
Manufacturer: Use the edit field to specify the name of the manufacturer of the data logger. The Data Logger IPI module supports arbitrary manufacturers.
Model: Specifies the in-place inclinometer model.
Serial number: Specifies the serial number of the instrument being emulated.
The DAT file containing the in-place inclinometer data presents a list of records for in-place inclinometer sensors. Each row represents one in-place inclinometer measurement. Besides of the measurement time and possibly other values, each row contains the measurements (for example, tilts and cumulated displacements) from all equally long segments. The measurements of each segment are contained in subsequent fields.
Use the properties of the Sensor Configuration category to specify the sensor configuration in the data file.
Segment length: This property specifies the length of each segment of the in-place inclinometer. This value is used for processing displacements from tilt angles.
Note - For computation, the module of course respects all decimals entered, but the display of lengths depends on the View > Options > Decimal precision value.
First segment column number: The property determines the column number in the data file containing the first data of the first in-place inclinometer segment. By default set to 2.
Tip - The module does not respect previous columns with the exception of the column containing the time stamp. For specifying this column, go to the Data File Settings category of properties and set the Timestamp column number property.
Fixed segment ending: This property specifies which segment is considered to be the initial one, and thus, the order in which the segments of the in-place inclinometer are processed. For the computation of cumulative displacements, the algorithm considers the segment length and the initial tilt values of each segment.
Segment columns: This setting specifies the type(s) of data that the sensor provides through its data file. For selecting the data type and for assigning file columns to data types, set the focus into the value field and click the browse button. The Segment Configuration Settings dialog appears. Use it to specify which data is contained in the data file and in which order the data columns appear.
