Configuration dialog

A Configuration tab appears at each module's Properties dialog. Use the Configuration tab to add, select and delete module configurations.

A module organizes its settings in configurations. Each configuration stores all information you need to successfully run the module. Different module configurations, of course, may store different property values, for example for testing purposes.

The Configuration tab lets you perform the following tasks:

• To add a module configuration, click Add. The Configuration Name dialog appears. After you have entered a new configuration name, the name appears in the configuration name list. Since configuration names are widely used throughout the system, for example, in the database tables, the usage of characters is restricted to letters, digits, underscores, and spaces. Upper and lower case are indifferent.
• Then, to define the properties of the new configuration, make sure the focus is on that configuration name and click Next. One or more tabs may follow.
• To add multiple instances of the same module type to the same parent, select multiple configuration names. In this case, editing the configurations is not allowed. Click Finish to create one new module for each selected configuration using the current configuration properties. All modules will be created in the specified Controller and Container under the same parent (either the root or a parent module).
• To modify a module configuration, set the focus on that configuration name and move to any other tab of the module's Properties dialog.
• To delete one or more configurations, if you do not need them anymore, select them in the list (you can use multiple selection by pressing Shift or Ctrl while clicking the obsolete configurations), and click Remove.

The currently loaded configuration appears behind the name of the module in the Tree view.

Typically, you cannot select a configuration already used in another module of the same type. Configurations, which are already in use are grayed out in the list of configurations. Such used configurations cannot be deleted.
