Properties of the Tree view

The properties of the Tree view appear, if you do one of the following:

Use the Tree view properties to change the view mode, allow or prohibit drag & drop operations and enable/disable some confirmation dialogs.

Appearance category

The View mode setting lets you select one of two Tree view modes: The Module view mode displays the hierarchical organization of the modules, while you use the Controller view mode to see the connected Controllers and Containers in the system.

Show containers: This property is only available, if the view mode is set to Controller. If set to No, the modules appear directly under their Controller. By default it is set to Yes, displaying the modules under the Container they belong to.

Drag & Drop Operations category

Use the settings of this category to allow or prohibit the dragging and dropping of modules from the Tree. Which settings are available, depends on the selected view mode. By default, all selections are set to Yes.

Copy: Only available for the Module view mode. If set to Yes, pressing the Ctrl key and dragging the selected module to another location (under another module, in another Container) copies the module to the new location. This setting does not apply for child modules.

Copy child modules: Only available for the Module view mode. If set to Yes, copying the parent module additionally copies all dependent child modules.

Move: Only available for the Controller view mode. If set to Yes, moving the selected module to another location (into another Container) is allowed.

Remove: If set to Yes, removing the selected module from the system configuration by dragging it outside of the main window is allowed.

Insert: If set to Yes, selecting a module in a different view and inserting the selected module to another location (under another module, in another Container) is allowed.

Confirmation Dialogs category

The settings of this category let you select for each of the above actions on modules, whether a confirmation dialog appears, before the action is performed. If you have to confirm an action, such as deleting modules from the system, you are prevented from unintentionally performing it. If the respective setting is set to Yes, the confirmation dialog appears. If the setting is set to No, the confirmation dialog will be skipped and the action is executed immediately.

By default, all selections are set to Yes.
