The receivers.xml file: Receiver brands and types
One of the Trimble common files which are subject to automatic update, if this features is enabled, is the receivers.xml file.
- The receivers.xml file contains a list of all receiver brands and types, which Trimble 4D Control Server supports.
- When viewing or editing station information: The receivers.xml file is the source for the selections available for the Manufacturer and Name properties in the Receiver Information category.
- The names of the receivers are spelled conforming to the IGS conventions.
- The receiver types appearing in the RINEX output and IGS site logs depend on the names appearing in the receivers.xml file.
- Each receiver type listed here is mapped to its Trimble-proprietary ID.
You should not edit the receivers.xml file, for the following reasons:
- For Trimble 4D Control Server to support a receiver type it not only needs the receivers.xml file, but also an internal decoder. New receiver types are only available with a software update or upgrade.
- With the next automatic software update or with an update by download the file will be overwritten.
