Controlling the Router data flow
Trimble 4D Control Server includes several choices to control the data flow between the Router module, its incoming connection on one side, and the outgoing connection on the other side.
Re-connecting to the other side
For Router modules below the Router Manager, two commands are available that let you reconnect either to the incoming or to the outgoing side.
For Router modules added to any other parent, one may disconnect and automatically re-connect to the outgoing side.
To disconnect from and re-connect to the other side, do the following:
- Go to the Tree view and set the focus onto the Router module.
- Do one of the following:
- Select the shortcut menu command Reconnect Outgoing.
- Select the shortcut menu command Reconnect Incoming (for Router modules below the Router Manager only).
As long as the connecting closes, the Incoming or Outgoing views (whichever applies) will display the Closing connection status. After the module is re-started, the connection status will display the Connected status again.
If the active incoming connection is the backup connection, this command re-starts both connections.
Suspending the data flow without disconnecting the Router
To prevent data from being streamed between the connected side and the Router module, do the following:
- Go to the Tree view and set the focus onto the GNSS Receiver module.
- Select its shortcut menu command Suspend Data Flow.
When the data flow is suspended, the following is true:
- The module icon displays the "suspended data flow" module status.
- The Resume Data Flow shortcut menu command is available.
- The module does not receive data from incoming side (either internal connection to a parent or external connection) and does not send data to that side.
- The module does not receive data from the outgoing port and does not send data to it.
- The connection states to the incoming and / or outgoing sides are not being influenced by this command.
- If Automatic backup connection control is turned on, suspending the data flow does not lead to a switch to the backup connection.
- The module will keep its "suspended data flow"-status, even if it is moved to a different Container or unloaded from the system configuration and, for example, added to a different one.
