Receiver and antenna information handling - accepting pending changes
Incoming receiver data streams include information on the receiver type (manufacturer and receiver name), the used firmware and boot version and the serial number of the receiver device, as well as on the antenna type used (manufacturer and antenna name) and the antenna serial number.
Within Trimble 4D Control Server, the GNSS Receiver module configuration should always hold information that matches the information arriving from the device. Receiver and antenna information is stored as part of the station information, which - with the exception of serial numbers - you typically specify when setting up the Trimble 4D Control Server system. Only users logged in as Trimble 4D Control Server administrators are allowed to specify the receiver firmware and boot version though. General receiver and antenna information (among which are manufacturer and brand information, descriptions, calibrations) must be available in form of XML and ANTEX files in the Common Trimble folder. Data import from IGS site logs and Excel data sheets is also possible. If an update of the hardware makes it necessary, you can edit the station information at any time.
Tip - For more information on system properties such as the global station list, user management, and data import see the section on the System Properties within the Trimble 4D Control Server documentation.
What happens if the raw incoming data differs from the module settings? The following rules will apply:
Note - Changes of receiver and / or antenna properties that originate from data import such as by IGS site logs or Excel sheet are displayed and must be accepted anyways by a user before they will be imported. Therefore, they will be active as soon as one accepts the import using the respective data or configuration import dialog.
If you assume that the receiver device is not sending correct information, change the settings at the hardware side to match the information given in the Trimble 4D Control Server System Properties.
If the incoming data stream contains the correct hard- and firmware information, Trimble 4D Control Server operators will be able to accept these changes for the Trimble 4D Control Server system.
To do so, one right-clicks the module item in the tree to open its shortcut menu. Additionally to the shortcut menu, a tooltip then displays for each differing receiver or antenna property both, the stored (current) and the new value. For accepting the new value, select the Accept changes of antenna/receiver settings command. As soon as the changes are accepted, the module icon will reset to , and neither the shortcut menu command nor the information on differences will be further available. The new values will show up, wherever receiver and antenna information is displayed in the system, for example in the global station list.
