Controlling the GNSS Receiver data flow
Trimble 4D Control Server includes several choices to control the data flow between the GNSS Receiver module, the receiver it is connected to on one side, and the depending modules on the other side.
Re-connecting to the receiver
To disconnect from and re-connect to the receiver, do the following:
- Go to the Tree view and set the focus onto the GNSS Receiver module.
- Select its shortcut menu command Reconnect to Receiver.
Typically, the reconnect will be performed very quickly, thus you will not notice it, for example, in the Receiving Info view.
If the active connection is the backup connection, this command re-starts both connections.
Suspending the data flow without disconnecting the receiver
To prevent data from being streamed between the connected receiver and the GNSS Receiver module and between the GNSS Receiver module and those modules added below, do the following:
- Go to the Tree view and set the focus onto the GNSS Receiver module.
- Select its shortcut menu command Suspend Data Flow.
When the data flow is suspended, the following happens:
- The module icon displays the "suspended data flow" module status. (If, however, the module should additionally be disconnected, its status icon will change to display the disconnected status.)
- The Resume Data Flow shortcut menu command is available.
- The module does not decode or forward receiver data.
- Therefore, the Receiving Info module view will not be updated anymore.
- The connection status to the receiver is not being influenced by this command.
- If Automatic backup connection control is turned on, suspending the data flow does not lead to a switch to the backup connection.
- The module will keep its "suspended data flow"-status, even if it is moved to a different Container or unloaded from the system configuration and, for example, added to a different one.
