Device Manager

The Device Manager module is the main tool for configuring and viewing your reference station network. Use it to add the connections to reference stations to the network and to get an overview on most of the properties of the connected reference receivers. Each reference station receiver that is connected to Trimble 4D Control Server is represented by a GNSS Receiver or an NMEA Receiver module.

Note - There are also other modules, such as the Router module, that provide input data to the network.

Adding the Device Manager module

The Device Manager module is available from the Tree view root Trimble 4D Control Server. Trimble 4D Control Server accepts multiple Device Manager modules in the system.

When the module is being added, the Device Manager Properties dialog appears. It lets you define and select Device Manager module configurations. Each configuration holds information on the alarm thresholds and satellite settings. You may remove a configuration from here, if you do not need it anymore. You may change the settings of the selected Device Manager configuration at any time.

Exporting station information

For exporting the station information of all stations selected for a Device Manager module, right-click the module in the Tree to open its shortcut menu and select one of the export options.

• The Export IGS Site Log Files command opens a standard Browse For Folder dialog. Use it to select the folder where the .log files are written to. A message appears after the files have been written to the selected folder.
• The Export Google Earth KML File command starts the automatic export of all station data into a KML data file. The Specify the KML File dialog appears that lets you specify the name and location of the exported Google Earth KML file.
• The Export CSV File command starts the automatic export of all station data into a Comma Separated Values data file. The Export Station Information as CSV dialog appears that lets you specify the name and location of the export file.

Using one of the export commands, the station information of the following stations will be exported in one step:

• Data of all stations used by all GNSS Receiver modules added to the selected Device Manager module(s).
• Data of all stations used by all NMEA Receiver modules added to the selected Device Manager module(s). If the same station is used by a GNSS Receiver module and an NMEA Receiver module, the NMEA Receiver will not be respected.
