Datum Transformation selection

The coordinate system database current.csd contains a list of datum transformations for selection. The wizard dialog displays the list of datum transformations. For the selected datum transformation, it displays the method used to perform the transformation (Datum Method), such as the Seven parameter transformation or the Molodensky method, below the list. For not performing a datum transformation, select WGS 1984.

Changing the method of datum transformation

Some of the pre-defined datum transformations allow the selection of an alternative method. If so, the Change Method button becomes active. It opens the Select Datum Method dialog, which lets you select between available alternatives.

Properties of an item

To view the properties of the selected item, right-click its name to access the shortcut menu. Select Properties. This opens a properties read-only dialog, which displays the parameters of the selected items. Using the To WGS-84 and From WGS-84 options, one can toggle the display of parameters used to transform coordinates to and from the WGS 1984 system.

Next step

The Select Geoid Model dialog appears. Use it to specify the geoid model to be applied, if any.
