NMEA Engine Properties - General Settings

When you add the NMEA Engine module, the NMEA Engine Properties dialog appears with this tab.

If you select the module in the Tree view after you have added the module, the categories and settings of this tab appear in the Properties view.

Use the General Settings tab to view and edit the NMEA Engine properties, such as the contributing stations, the maximum tracking rate and logging settings.

Synchronization Settings category

Tracking interval: Specifies the tracking interval that the NMEA Engine will pass to its dependent modules.

Selected NMEA receivers: Use the setting to select stations from all currently available NMEA Receiver modules. The NMEA Engine will collect and filter only the data of the selected stations. To change the selection, click the browse button. The Select NMEA Receivers dialog appears.

Tip - If stations are added to the system after the NMEA Engine has been set up, these stations are, by default, not selected and do not contribute to the processed network.

Why should stations not be included into the NMEA Engine configuration? This may happen, for example, if maintenance work is done on a certain station. However, troubles at the station should not influence the data processing. In this case, you will exclude the station from the NMEA Engine.

Logging Settings category

Use logging filter: If set to No, the processing results are written into the database with the highest available data rate. If set to Yes, the additional Logging data rate property will be available, which lets you specify a data rate at which the processing results are stored in the database.

Logging data rate: Only available, if the Use logging filter property is set to Yes. Lets you select a rate at which the processing results are written into the database. If the input data is coming at a higher rate, the written values will be mean values. If it is coming in at a lower rate, the logging data rate is reduced to the incoming data rate. Available data rates are between 20 Hz and 10 minutes (Default: 15 seconds).
