Monitoring DB Service

The Monitoring DB Service module is used for the connection between the technical database filled by Trimble 4D Control Server and the monitoring database.

Purpose

The purpose of the Monitoring DB Service module is to continuously take data specific for monitoring purposes from the technical database (default name: T4D). The module re-sorts the data and performs computations on it, if necessary, and writes the results into the monitoring database (default name: T4DDBMonitoring).

Adding the module

Since the Trimble 4D Control Web system relies on the connection between the Trimble 4D Control Server and its monitoring database, the Monitoring DB Service module is started automatically when you insert the first module of one the following types into Trimble 4D Control Server:

Notes for users updating from a version prior to Trimble T4D Control Server v. 4.0

Module status

As soon as the module is added to the tree it starts working. It does not need any property settings or being monitored using a module view.

The module icon indicates the health status:

During initialization as long as the module has not connected to the technical database. Reasons for not connecting include missing network connections, access to database is denied, or wrong entries for the database name during installation. In this status, the module continues trying to connect to the database until it succeeds. It is not necessary to remove and re-insert the module.

The module is initialized and has established a connection to the database.
