When you add the Ephemeris Download module, the Ephemeris Download Properties dialog appears with this tab.
If you select the module in the Tree view after you have added the module, the categories and settings of this tab appear in the Properties view.
Use the General Settings tab to view and edit the settings for the download of various file types, such as the types of files to be downloaded, the protocol for data transfer, the download address(es) and the target folder(s).
The settings of this category define the time settings for the data transfer.
Download offset: Specifies an offset in minutes to the specified file lookup interval. Valid offsets are in the range of 1 to 59 minutes. Use this property for specifying a download time that is different from the full hour. Default: 0 minutes, that is the full hour.
File lookup interval: Specifies how often the module starts the download of data files from the servers specified in the data-related categories of settings. Valid intervals are in the range of 60 to 360 minutes and refer to the full hour. Default: 120 minutes.
Error lookup interval: If the download failed for any reason (for example, orbit files not available, communication error), Ephemeris Download repeats the download after the time interval specified here. Valid intervals are in the range of 1 to 60 minutes. Default: 30 minutes.
Predicted Orbit Settings categoryUse the properties of this category to specify the settings for the download of predicted orbits, which are made available at least 4 times a day.
Use predicted files: Specifies, whether or not to download ultra rapid orbits. If set to Yes (default), the download of ultra rapid orbits is enabled. No disables the download. In this case, no additional settings are possible and necessary.
Transfer Protocol: Specifies the protocol used for data download of the primary data source, either FTP or HTTP. With FTP selected, Ephemeris Download needs to know the FTP server address (Server setting) and the path on the server (Path setting). With HTTP selected, view or edit the URL (IP address) of the server computer using the URL to the predicted orbits setting. Additional proxy server related settings become available.
Server: Only available, if the selected protocol is FTP. Specifies the server computer acting as primary source for download files. By default this is the path to the FTP server of the University of Berne, Switzerland: ftp.unibe.ch.
Use passive mode: If the access restrictions for the FTP client require that an FTP server is configured for passive mode only, keep the default option Yes. For the active FTP mode, select No. For more information on passive connections click here.
Path: Only available, if the selected protocol is FTP. Specifies the URL to the file location on the server computer specified in the Server property. By default this is the path to /aiub/CODE/COD.EPH_U.
Anonymous FTP access: By default, set to Yes. If you need to provide a user name and password for the connection to the FTP server, set the setting to No and edit the User name and Password settings. Both settings are not available, if Anonymous FTP access is set to Yes.
User name: Only available, if Anonymous FTP access is set to No. Specifies the user name used to log in at the server.
Password: Only available, if Anonymous FTP access is set to No. Specifies the password needed to log in at the server.
URL: Only available, if the selected protocol is HTTP. Specifies the URL (IP address including the path to the local folder) of the server acting as secondary source for download files. By default this is the path to igscb.jpl.nasa.gov/igscb/product.
The following three settings only appear, if you have selected HTTP as transfer protocol for the connection the settings of this category refer to. Use the settings to specify whether and how the access to the HTTP server should be routed via a proxy server or not. A proxy server may be necessary if a firewall blocks access to the internet.
Use proxy server: Specifies whether the access to the data source should be routed via a proxy server or not. Default: No. For using a proxy server, set Use proxy server to Yes.
Proxy server name: Only available, if Use proxy server is set to Yes. Specifies the name (IP address or host name) of the proxy server to use.
Proxy server port: Only available, if Use proxy server is set to Yes. Specifies the IP port number of the proxy server to use.
Retrieval time: Specifies the period for which data is to be downloaded. With the default Retrieval time of 2 days, all ultra rapid orbit files of the last two days (the current day and the previous one) will be downloaded when the Ephemeris Download module starts up.
Tip - To retrieve older rapid orbits data files, change the Retrieval time setting. Available selections are between 1 day and 4 weeks.
Use the folder settings to view and specify where the downloaded files are stored on your computer. To select or change a destination, set the focus into the value field and click the browse button. The Folder Browser dialog appears. By default, the fields are empty.
Predicted ORB folder: After download, Ephemeris Download transforms the extracted files into the ECF<GPSweek><day_of_week>_00.orb orbit files to be used within the system. The Orbit setting specifies the folder to store these files. The folder must exist.
Predicted SP3 folder: Specifies the target folder for the downloaded and extracted SP3 files. The folder must exist. This is the folder name that one has to specify in a Trimble Ephemeris Manager module if it is configured to use predicted orbits.
Use backup connection: En- or disables the backup functionality. If set to Yes, the additional Backup Connection Settings category of settings becomes available. To stop using the redundant connection, select No.
The Backup Connection Settings category of settings is only available, if the Use backup connection setting is set to Yes. Use the settings of this category to make a second file server known to Trimble 4D Control Server or to change settings for this backup connection.
Basically, the settings of this category are used in the same way as those for the primary data source. There is only one difference: The default values refer to the NASA server using the HTTP transfer protocol.
Transfer Protocol: Specifies the protocol used for data download of the secondary data source, either HTTP or FTP. Default: HTTP.
URL: Only available, if the selected protocol is HTTP. Specifies the URL (IP address including the path to the local folder) of the server acting as secondary source for download files. The default path aims to igscb.jpl.nasa.gov/igscb/product.
Server: Only available, if the selected protocol is FTP. Specifies the server computer acting as primary source for download files. The default server is the IGS FTP server: igscb.jpl.nasa.gov
Path: Only available, if the selected protocol is FTP. Specifies the URL to the file location on the server computer specified in the Server property. The default IGS path is /igscb/product/.
Anonymous FTP access: By default, set to Yes. If you need to provide a user name and password for the connection to the FTP server, set the setting to No and edit the User name and Password settings. Both settings are not available, if Anonymous FTP access is set to Yes.

Precise Orbit Settings categoryUse the properties of the Precise Orbit Settings category to specify the settings for the download of both precise orbits. Precise orbits include rapid orbits (available after one day) and final orbits which are available from the IGS server after 3 to 4 weeks.
Use precise files: Specifies, whether or not to download rapid and final orbits. If set to Yes (default), the download of precise orbits is enabled. No disables the download.
Transfer Protocol: Not available for editing. The transfer protocol is FTP.
Use passive mode: If the access restrictions for the FTP client require that an FTP server is configured for passive mode only, keep the default option Yes. For the active FTP mode, select No. For more information on passive connections click here.
Server: Not available for editing. The entry IGS indicates that the Ephemeris Download module uses the default server and path information for downloading precise orbits from the IGS server (For more information, see the Predicted Orbit Settings section).
Anonymous FTP access: By default, set to Yes. If you need to provide a user name and password for the connection to the FTP server, set the setting to No and edit the User name and Password settings. Both settings are not available, if Anonymous FTP access is set to Yes.
User name: Only available, if Anonymous FTP access is set to No. Specifies the user name used to log in at the server.
Password: Only available, if Anonymous FTP access is set to No. Specifies the password needed to log in at the server.

Differential Code Bias Setting categoryUse the settings of the Differential Code Bias category of settings to make a file server known to Ephemeris Download that provides Differential Code Bias (DCB) files. The following modules need these files:
Basically, the settings of this category are used in the same way as those for the predicted ephemeris data source, if downloading DCB files is enabled. The transfer protocol, however, is always FTP. Therefore, the Transfer Protocol setting cannot be edited.
Download DCB files: Specifies whether DCB files should be downloaded. Default: Yes, that is enabled, additional settings are available. For disabling the download of DCB files, set Download DCB files to No.
Transfer Protocol: Not available for editing. The transfer protocol is FTP.
Use passive mode: If the access restrictions for the FTP client require that an FTP server is configured for passive mode only, keep the default option Yes. For the active FTP mode, select No. For more information on passive connections click here.
DCB file provider: Specifies the provider of the DCB files. The Server and Path settings for DCB files cannot be modified. They depend on the selected provider. With Both selected, Trimble DCB files will be downloaded by default. Only, if no data are available from the current provider (for example, due to connection issues), the module automatically switches to the second provider. The modules making use of the DCB files automatically switch to the most up-to-date ones.

DCB folder: Specifies the root of the target folder(s) for the downloaded DCB files. The folder must exist. The downloaded files will be automatically stored in provider-specific subfolders: \Trimble is the subfolder fro Trimble DCB files; \CODE is used for the provider type CODE.
Note - Modules making use of the DCB files need to know the root folder specified here. They then automatically scan the subfolders.
For several tasks, the system needs to know the folders files are residing in.
