Modem connection settings

Note - Before you can select a modem connection, the modem must be made known to the computer. To do so, use the modem setup in the Microsoft® Windows® system. There, you specify most of the modem properties.

To configure a modem connection, first select the Modem connection type. The settings of the Connection Settings category adjust themselves for the selected connection type. These settings specify those dialing properties specific for the use with Trimble 4D Control Server.

Connection mode: Specifies, whether the modem waits for incoming calls and answers them (select Answer) or whether it dials actively (Dial, default selection).

Modem: Select the modem from all installed modems at the computer where the module is running.

Phone number: Only available for the Dial connection mode. Specifies the number to dial.

Automatic reconnect: Only available for the Dial connection mode. Set it to Yes, if you want the modem to automatically dial again when the connection breaks or the remote modem is busy. Default: Yes.

Reconnect delay: Only available if Automatic reconnect is set to Yes. Specifies the period the modem waits after a hangup before it dials again. Default: 30 seconds.

Number of rings: Only available for the Answer connection mode. Specifies the number of rings after which the modem answers an incoming phone call.
