When you add the Webcam Service module, the Webcam Service Properties dialog appears with this tab.
If you select the module in the Tree view after you have added the module, the categories and settings of this tab appear in the Properties view.
Use the General Settings tab to specify the parameters to make camera recordings available to the Trimble 4D Control Web alarming system.
Recording folder: Specifies the location where the module stores the recorded video files. For each configured webcam the Webcam Service module has found information in the Monitoring DB, it makes available and needs a sub-folder below the specified root folder. The default setting refers to an automatically generated \WebcamService\<Module configuration name> sub-folder of the default temporary application data folder of the logged-in user.
Event time window: For specifying the length of the MP4 files in seconds click the drop-down button and select one of the options (times in seconds between 3 seconds and 60 seconds). This setting influences the size of MP4 files and thus the size of mails that are sent in the case of alarms. When an alarm is triggered that is connected to a configured webcam, the Webcam Service module scans the available video data for the time of the triggered alarm. It generates an MP4 file of the specified length with the alarm time in the middle of the generated file. For example: With an event time window of 10 seconds and an alarm triggered at 01:02:40, the generated MP4 file covers the period between 01:02:35 and 01:02:45.
Hold time: Specifies the period for which video recordings are kept in the folder specified by the Recording folder property. Valid values are time values in the format hh:mm:ss or <number of days>.hh:mm:ss, where the default is 01:00:00 (one hour). The module automatically deletes files older than the hold time.
Tip - A value of 00:00:00 disables file deletion. All files will be stored until you delete them using other tools. In this case, Trimble recommends setting up a Disk Watch module that monitors the available disk space on the computer hosting the recording folder when the Trimble 4D Control Server installation is completed.
Refresh interval: The Trimble 4D Control Web operator sets up webcam configurations for which information is stored in the monitoring database. This may happen at any time. The Webcam Service module must scan the Monitoring DB in regular intervals for detecting how many webcams are set up currently. This setting specifies that scan interval. Valid values are time values in the format hh:mm:ss, where the default is 00:00:03 (every three seconds).
