Starting total station data import and processing

The Terrestrial Engine PP performs the import of measurement and their processing in one step. It only needs to know the location of the data files, when to start the processing, and whether points are backsight points or not.

Specifying the location of JobXML files

There are two methods to specify the location of the data files. Use the module property Method of file import to select the method to be used.

Folder scanning for files

If Method of file import is set to Scan folder, specify a folder which will automatically be scanned for new files in a specified interval. If you have specified a prefix, only the files whose filenames start with that prefix are selected for file import and processing. The settings must be accepted before the time interval to the first file scan starts.

To start the file scan for files with the specified prefix immediately, use the module shortcut menu command Scan For New Files.

Starting import and processing manually

If Method of file import is set to Manually, and the settings are accepted, select the module shortcut menu command Process File. This opens the Choose File to Process dialog. Use it to specify the path and filename of the import file.

Processing the JobXML file

As soon as the (next) job file has been imported, the Terrestrial Engine PP starts processing it. From the known coordinates and the measurements of the targets Terrestrial Engine PP computes approximate positions for the unknown points of each round.

Stopping the processing

If you want to view the results of individual measurement rounds, you can stop the current processing. Select the module shortcut-menu command Stop Processing File. This command is only available while Terrestrial Engine PP is processing. To restart, again select Process File.
