FTP Mirror - Passive mode FTP

When dealing with firewalls and their configuration, the most commonly seen question is with respect to FTP, whether we are using passive mode FTP or not. If there is no firewall between the FTP server and its clients, the server actually makes the connection to the client. This is the default mode. In passive mode, the FTP server provides a data connection through a firewall and listens to a connection from the client. See the following figures:
