Disk Watch

The Disk Watch module lets you administrate and maintain the data storage on a permanent and automatic basis. It is available from the Trimble 4D Control Server root item of the Tree view item. Trimble 4D Control Server needs (and accepts) only one Disk Watch module for the whole system, since Disk Watch lets you control all computers and hard disks in your system.

The Disk Watch module monitors the hard disks of specified computers for remaining disk space or for files of a specified file age. If it detects that disk space is too low or files are too old, it removes files according to the deletion criteria. You can specify the deletion criteria in multiple jobs.

Settings, status, and module view

When the module is first being added, the Disk Watch Properties dialog appears. It lets you define and select Disk Watch configurations. Each configuration holds one or several jobs, which you define first, before the Disk Watch module can start a check. You also may remove a configuration or a job from here, if you do not need them anymore.

Use the tree view to see the module status: If at least one job results in a warning, the Icon Disk Watch module module icon is replaced by the yellow warning icon; if at least one job has errors or there is another severe problem (such as a missing connection), the red error icon appears.

The module displays the Status and History module-view pages.

Logging into the database

All actions of the Disk Watch module are logged into the central database. The database contains the following tables referring to Disk Watch:
